Remember the iconic 1994 action flick Speed, in which Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock were stuck on a bus that would explode if it slowed below 50 mph? Picture that, but instead of a bus it's a bullet train hurtling toward Tokyo, and instead of Keanu Reeves it's one very dedicated train conductor.

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Bullet Train Explosion, the next project from Shin Godzilla director Shinji Higuchi. A modern reboot of the 1975 Japanese film The Bullet Train, Bullet Train Explosion follows Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa No. 60, a train which has been rigged to explode if its speed drops below 100 km/h (62 mph). That is, unless a ransom of 100 billion yen (approximately $667 million) is paid.

Aboard the train is conductor Takaichi (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi), who looks like he's about to demonstrate a ridiculously fierce commitment to customer service and passenger safety. He won't be alone on the worst train ride ever though, with the ensemble cast also including Kanata Hosoda, Non, Jun Kaname, Machiko Ono, Hana Toyoshima, and Takumi Saitoh.

Bullet Train Explosion will arrive April 23 on Netflix.
