2025 is a big year for presidential crises in film and TV.

Hulu's Paradise opens with a president's murder. The upcoming thriller G20 sees a U.S. president fighting through a hostage crisis. Captain America: Brave New World ends with the president hulking out and wrecking the White House. Now, Netflix and Shondaland's upcoming whodunnit The Residence adds to that trend by focusing on a murder that takes place at the White House during a state dinner.

This time, the victim isn't the president. It's A.B. Wynter (Giancarlo Esposito), the White House's chief usher. On the case is Detective Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba), who must reluctantly join forces with FBI agent Edwin Park (Randall Park) in order to crack the case. Check out the trailer above for a taste of The Residence's delicious screwball vibes and its sprawling cast, which includes pop icon Kylie Minogue as herself.

The Residence premieres March 20 on Netflix.
